STORY
RelicArk is a handmade art brand founded in Tokyo, Japan by two artists/painters: Shinn and Sansai.
In geology, there is a concept called the “Anthropogenic layer”:
Humanity will eventually go extinct, just like every ancient species.
We too will leave a trace in the strata—scholars believe this trace will become a layer filled with plastics and other artificial substances.
Our works are hardened from transparent liquid resin, then reshaped through hand-polishing, modification, design and craft, reconstructing the “non-living skeletons” that may once have existed in the ocean.
Petroleum-derived materials imitate sanctity and imitate death.
This is the project known as “Replicantis” —
An inorganic ark dedicated to the memory of the Anthropocene.

RelicArkは、アーティスト／画家である Shinnan Chen と Sansai Lee によって東京で設立されたハンドメイドブランドです。
地質学には「人類層（Anthropogenic layer）」という概念がある。
人類もいずれすべての古生物と同じように滅び、
地層の中に痕跡を残すだろう。
その痕跡は、プラスチックや人工物に満ちた層になると学者たちは考えている。
透明な液体から硬化した作品を、手作業による研磨・加工・再構築を経て、
かつて海の中に存在したかもしれない「非生命の骨格」を再構成する。
石油由来の素材が、神聖と死を模倣する。
それが「複製された聖遺物（Replicantis）」という作品であり、
人新世（Anthropocene）の記憶に捧げる無機的な方舟である。

地質學中有一個「人類層（Anthropogenic layer）」的概念：
人類終有一日會滅絕，如同所有古生物。
也會在地質層中留下痕跡——而這個痕跡，被學者認為將是一層充滿塑膠與其他人造物的沉積。
從透明液體硬化而成的作品，經由手工打磨、改造、設計與加工，
重構那些曾經或許存在於海中的「非生命骨架」。
源自石油的材料，模仿神聖，也模仿死亡。
這便是名為「被仿制的聖遺物（Replicantis）」的作品——
一艘獻給人類世（Anthropocene）記憶的無機方舟。
